About the event
In Unprotected, Alexander Koch presents a strikingly raw and intimate exploration of vulnerability in contemporary life. Through a series of mixed-media works—ranging from stark photographic installations to sculptural interventions—Koch interrogates the fragile boundaries between public exposure and private emotion.
The exhibition unfolds as a meditation on what it means to remain undefended in a world conditioned by surveillance, performance, and the curated self. Using fragmented bodies, transparent surfaces, and deliberately unfinished materials, Unprotected challenges the viewer to confront the discomfort of openness without armor.
Koch’s practice often navigates the political dimensions of visibility, and in this latest body of work, he extends that inquiry to the personal: What does it cost to be truly seen? And who has the privilege—or the burden—of being unprotected?
Presented in a minimalist yet emotionally charged setting, the works in Unprotected oscillate between strength and fragility, control and surrender, inviting audiences to experience the catharsis…
