Neon Studio 3 is proud to present Alexander Koch (b. 1999)—a Franco-Dutch-Italian visual artist whose work explores the tension between tradition and transformation. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, and recipient of the Jan Roede Award, Koch creates paintings fused with sculptural, often hybrid frames.
Rooted in a lineage of classical ballet and fine art, yet shaped by the digital age, his practice merges painterly techniques with printmaking and assemblage. His compositions blur the line between subject and stage, where recurring forms shift identities—like performers in a perpetual rehearsal.
His visual language is poetic, often evoking a fragile stillness threatened by volatile surroundings:
“A daisy in a field, encircled by towering, shape-shifting machines—forever near, never touching.”
Koch lives and works between Italy and the Netherlands.
